Garden room and home office air conditioning in Peebles

Garden room and home office air conditioning in Peebles

Garden offices used every day in Peebles need cooling in summer and efficient heat in winter. In central and southern Scotland, heat pump heating is usually the main reason to install, especially in homes on electric heating.

For a garden room in Peebles, the outdoor unit usually sits on a small stand behind the building. Peebles lies roughly 15 miles from Galashiels, and we cover it as part of the Scottish Borders. Homes in EH45 are all within our coverage.

Prices in Peebles

Our Central and Southern Scotland guide price for garden room and home office air conditioning is £1,345–£2,895 per system, VAT included. Labour rates in Central and Southern Scotland keep this slightly under the national middle. Quotes move with the length of the pipe run, where the outdoor unit can sit and how much electrical work the job needs. For reference, the Popular option in Peebles (3.5 kW unit with Wi-Fi to warm up before you walk down the garden) usually comes to about £1,645–£2,245.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.

Planning and permissions

Scotland has its own permitted development rules for heat pumps and outdoor units, with stricter treatment of listed buildings and conservation areas. We check the current position for your property with you and, if needed, with the council.

We book surveys in Peebles at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
