Garden room and home office air conditioning in Shepherds Bush

Garden room and home office air conditioning in Shepherds Bush

The urban heat island effect means London bedrooms can stay uncomfortably warm on summer nights. We check the armoured supply cable on every Shepherds Bush garden room before quoting.

For a garden room in Shepherds Bush, the outdoor unit usually sits on a small stand behind the building. Shepherds Bush lies roughly 4 miles from central London, and we cover it as part of London. We cover W12 and the streets around them.

Prices in Shepherds Bush

Budget around £1,895–£4,145 per system including VAT for garden room and home office air conditioning in and around Shepherds Bush. Prices here sit above the national middle, reflecting London labour rates and parking and access costs. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. As an example, the Popular option (3.5 kW unit with Wi-Fi to warm up before you walk down the garden) would typically be £2,345–£3,245 here.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.

Planning and permissions

For most houses in Shepherds Bush, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.

The survey

Surveys in Shepherds Bush cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare. A survey in Shepherds Bush usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes.
