Garden room and home office air conditioning in Crowborough

Garden room and home office air conditioning in Crowborough

For a garden room in Crowborough, the outdoor unit usually sits on a small stand behind the building. The South East sees some of the UK's warmest summer days, and south-facing rooms and conservatories feel it first.

Garden offices used every day in Crowborough need cooling in summer and efficient heat in winter. We cover Crowborough as part of East Sussex, roughly 21 miles from Brighton. We cover TN6 and the streets around them.

Prices in Crowborough

Budget around £1,745–£3,845 per system including VAT for garden room and home office air conditioning in and around Crowborough. That is above the UK middle, mainly because labour and access cost more in South East England. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. Typical Popular work (3.5 kW unit with Wi-Fi to warm up before you walk down the garden) lands around £2,195–£2,995 in this area.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.

Planning and permissions

England's rules let most houses fit an outdoor unit without a planning application, as long as the size, number and MCS 020(a) noise conditions are met. Flats, listed buildings and roof-mounted units are treated differently.

The survey

At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. We book surveys in Crowborough at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
