Floor console air conditioning in Crawley
Where a room in Crawley has deep cornicing or a picture rail, a console keeps the walls above it clear. Hot spells reach the South East early, which makes spring the easiest time to arrange an installation.
Where a house in Crawley has a bay window, a console can sit where the radiator was. We cover Crawley and the rest of West Sussex, including Worthing and Bognor Regis. Coverage includes RH11 and RH77.
Prices in Crawley
In South East England, our guide range for floor console air conditioning is £1,645–£3,595 per room, including VAT. That is above the UK middle, mainly because labour and access cost more in South East England. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. For reference, the Popular option in Crawley (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) usually comes to about £2,145–£2,845.
Essential
Standard console for a bedroom or study.
Popular
Quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room.
Premium

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 29 May 2025, England's permitted development rules allow larger outdoor units (up to 1.5 m³) and no longer require a 1 m gap to the boundary, provided the MCS 020(a) noise check is met. Listed buildings and pitched-roof installs still need permission.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. Surveys in Crawley cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare.
