Floor console air conditioning in Barry
Humid summer spells in South Wales make dehumidifying and cooling equally welcome. Where a house in Barry has a bay window, a console can sit where the radiator was.
Where a room in Barry has deep cornicing or a picture rail, a console keeps the walls above it clear. Barry is about 7 miles from Cardiff and falls within our South Glamorgan coverage. Postcode districts we cover here include CF62.
Prices in Barry
Guide prices around Barry run from £1,245 to £2,695 per room including VAT. That sits a little below the UK middle, reflecting typical South and Mid Wales labour rates. As an example, the Popular option (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) would typically be £1,595–£2,145 here.

HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 1 June 2026, Welsh permitted development rules for outdoor units closely match England's: up to 1.5 m³, two units on a detached home, one on other homes, and MCS 020a noise compliance. Listed buildings need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions on units facing a road.
The survey
A survey in Barry usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes. The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote.
