Floor console air conditioning in Pontypridd
Humid summer spells in South Wales make dehumidifying and cooling equally welcome. If your home in Pontypridd is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit.
Where a house in Pontypridd has a bay window, a console can sit where the radiator was. Pontypridd sits around 12 miles from Bridgend, inside our Mid Glamorgan area. Postcode districts we cover here include CF37.
Prices in Pontypridd
Budget around £1,245–£2,695 per room including VAT for floor console air conditioning in and around Pontypridd. Labour rates in South and Mid Wales keep this slightly under the national middle. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. As an example, the Popular option (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) would typically be £1,595–£2,145 here.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 1 June 2026, Welsh permitted development rules for outdoor units closely match England's: up to 1.5 m³, two units on a detached home, one on other homes, and MCS 020a noise compliance. Listed buildings need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions on units facing a road.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. A survey in Pontypridd usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes.
