Floor console air conditioning in Maesteg
In South and Mid Wales, efficient heating is often as important as cooling. Where a room in Maesteg has deep cornicing or a picture rail, a console keeps the walls above it clear.
If your home in Maesteg is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. Maesteg is about 8 miles from Bridgend and falls within our Mid Glamorgan coverage. That includes the CF34 postcode district.
Prices in Maesteg
For Maesteg, expect roughly £1,245 to £2,695 per room, VAT included, adjusted for typical South and Mid Wales rates. That sits a little below the UK middle, reflecting typical South and Mid Wales labour rates. What moves a quote in Maesteg up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. On our South and Mid Wales figures, the Popular option (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) is about £1,595–£2,145.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 1 June 2026, Welsh permitted development rules for outdoor units closely match England's: up to 1.5 m³, two units on a detached home, one on other homes, and MCS 020a noise compliance. Listed buildings need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions on units facing a road.

We book surveys in Maesteg at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
