Floor console air conditioning across Gwynedd
If your home in Bangor is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. Where a house in Bangor has a bay window, a console can sit where the radiator was. Mild North Wales summers mean heat pump heating is usually the headline benefit.
Prices in Gwynedd
Our North Wales guide price for floor console air conditioning is £1,245–£2,745 per room, VAT included. That sits a little below the UK middle, reflecting typical North Wales labour rates. Quotes move with the length of the pipe run, where the outdoor unit can sit and how much electrical work the job needs. Typical Popular work (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) lands around £1,645–£2,195 in this area.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 1 June 2026, Welsh permitted development rules for outdoor units closely match England's: up to 1.5 m³, two units on a detached home, one on other homes, and MCS 020a noise compliance. Listed buildings need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions on units facing a road.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. We book surveys in Gwynedd at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
