Floor console air conditioning in Horfield
Where a room in Horfield has deep cornicing or a picture rail, a console keeps the walls above it clear. Coastal breezes help, but inland South West towns and glazed rooms still see uncomfortable peaks.
Where a house in Horfield has a bay window, a console can sit where the radiator was. We cover Horfield as part of Bristol. We cover BS7 and the streets around them.
Prices in Horfield
Floor console air conditioning in Horfield typically comes in at £1,350–£2,950 per room including VAT, based on South West England rates. That is broadly in line with national guide prices. What moves a quote in Horfield up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. Typical Popular work (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) lands around £1,750–£2,350 in this area.
Essential
Standard console for a bedroom or study.
Popular
Quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 29 May 2025, England's permitted development rules allow larger outdoor units (up to 1.5 m³) and no longer require a 1 m gap to the boundary, provided the MCS 020(a) noise check is met. Listed buildings and pitched-roof installs still need permission.
The survey
We book surveys in Horfield at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
