Air conditioning for flats and apartments in Cardigan
In Cardigan apartment blocks, the freeholder's consent is usually the first thing to sort out. South Wales summers can be warm and humid, and winters damp, so a reversible system earns its keep all year.
Newer blocks in Cardigan with balconies are often the simplest flats to fit. Our Dyfed coverage takes in Cardigan, about 22 miles from Carmarthen. Postcode districts we cover here include SA43.
Prices in Cardigan
For Cardigan, expect roughly £1,245 to £5,445 per flat, one room to the whole flat, VAT included, adjusted for typical South and Mid Wales rates. Labour rates in South and Mid Wales keep this slightly under the national middle. What moves a quote in Cardigan up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. As an example, the Two rooms option (twin multi-split for living room and main bedroom) would typically be £2,445–£3,645 here.
Single room
One wall unit with a balcony outdoor unit.
Two rooms
Twin multi-split for living room and main bedroom.
Whole flat
Three or four rooms on one outdoor unit, concealed routes.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Consent and planning for flats
Leaseholders in Cardigan usually need the freeholder's consent for anything fixed outside, and blocks of flats often need planning permission for outdoor units. In Wales, the rules for blocks of flats differ from those for houses, so we check with the council before quoting.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. A survey in Cardigan usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes.
