Air conditioning for extensions and kitchen-diners across the Isle of Wight

An extension in Newport with a roof lantern or large glazed doors can overheat quickly on a sunny afternoon. For a kitchen-diner in Newport, we place the indoor unit clear of the hob and plan the outdoor unit at the rear. Summers in the South East are among the warmest in the country, so cooling often comes first, with efficient winter heating as a bonus.

Prices on the Isle of Wight

Planning and permissions

Since 29 May 2025, England's permitted development rules allow larger outdoor units (up to 1.5 m³) and no longer require a 1 m gap to the boundary, provided the MCS 020(a) noise check is met. Listed buildings and pitched-roof installs still need permission.

The survey

On the Isle of Wight we often start with photos, room measurements and the make of any existing system, so the survey visit is focused and any travel cost can be quoted in writing first. Surveys on the Isle of Wight are arranged around travel. We confirm the date and any travel, ferry or accommodation cost in writing before you commit, then the survey covers rooms, pipe routes, electrics and noise as normal.
