Air conditioning for extensions and kitchen-diners in Congleton
An extension in Congleton with a roof lantern or large glazed doors can overheat quickly on a sunny afternoon. In the North West, heating efficiency is often the main benefit, with summer cooling a welcome bonus.
For a kitchen-diner in Congleton, we place the indoor unit clear of the hob and plan the outdoor unit at the rear. Congleton is about 22 miles from Warrington and falls within our Cheshire coverage. Postcode districts we cover here include CW12.
Prices in Congleton
Guide prices around Congleton run from £1,395 to £4,245 per space including VAT. Labour rates in North West England keep this slightly under the national middle. Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
England's rules let most houses fit an outdoor unit without a planning application, as long as the size, number and MCS 020(a) noise conditions are met. Flats, listed buildings and roof-mounted units are treated differently.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. Surveys in Congleton cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare.
