Design-led and low-profile air conditioning in Towcester
Summer peaks in the East Midlands make bedrooms under the roof the hardest rooms to keep comfortable. For Towcester houses with decorated or panelled walls, a slim unit with concealed pipework keeps the room looking finished.
In Towcester, a flat-fronted unit is a neat way to add cooling to a living room without a bulky white box. We cover Towcester as part of Northamptonshire, roughly 9 miles from Northampton. Coverage includes NN12.
Prices in Towcester
For Towcester, expect roughly £1,795 to £3,495 per room, VAT included, adjusted for typical East Midlands rates. It is a touch below the UK middle, as trade rates in the East Midlands tend to be. The biggest variables are the pipe route, access for the outdoor unit and the state of the consumer unit, all of which the survey settles. For reference, the Flat-fronted option in Towcester (flat panel unit in white, black or silver for a living room) usually comes to about £2,145–£2,845.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 29 May 2025, England's permitted development rules allow larger outdoor units (up to 1.5 m³) and no longer require a 1 m gap to the boundary, provided the MCS 020(a) noise check is met. Listed buildings and pitched-roof installs still need permission.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. Surveys in Towcester cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare.
