Design-led and low-profile air conditioning in Beckenham
Design-led units suit Beckenham homes with feature walls or open-plan rooms where the unit is always in view. London's dense streets hold heat overnight, so top-floor flats and loft rooms often stay warm long after sunset.
In Beckenham, a flat-fronted unit is a neat way to add cooling to a living room without a bulky white box. Beckenham is about 8 miles from central London and falls within our London coverage. That includes the BR3 postcode district.
Prices in Beckenham
In London, our guide range for design-led air conditioning is £2,445–£4,795 per room, including VAT. London is one of the dearer parts of the UK for trades, which shows in the range. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. As an example, the Flat-fronted option (flat panel unit in white, black or silver for a living room) would typically be £2,945–£3,895 here.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
