Design-led and low-profile air conditioning across Herefordshire
For Hereford houses with decorated or panelled walls, a slim unit with concealed pipework keeps the room looking finished. In Hereford, a flat-fronted unit is a neat way to add cooling to a living room without a bulky white box. Inland West Midlands towns can see sharp summer peaks, and the same system doubles as an efficient heater in winter.
Prices in Herefordshire
In the West Midlands, our guide range for design-led air conditioning is £1,795–£3,595 per room, including VAT. It sits near the middle of UK prices. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. On our West Midlands figures, the Flat-fronted option (flat panel unit in white, black or silver for a living room) is about £2,195–£2,895.
Slim white

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
For most houses in Herefordshire, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.
The survey
On a survey in Herefordshire the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows. We book surveys in Herefordshire at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
