Design-led and low-profile air conditioning in Lydney
Coastal breezes help, but inland South West towns and glazed rooms still see uncomfortable peaks. In Lydney, a flat-fronted unit is a neat way to add cooling to a living room without a bulky white box.
Design-led units suit Lydney homes with feature walls or open-plan rooms where the unit is always in view. Lydney lies roughly 15 miles from Gloucester, and we cover it as part of Gloucestershire. Homes in GL15 are all within our coverage.
Prices in Lydney
For Lydney, expect roughly £1,850 to £3,650 per room, VAT included, adjusted for typical South West England rates. It sits near the middle of UK prices. What moves a quote in Lydney up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. As an example, the Flat-fronted option (flat panel unit in white, black or silver for a living room) would typically be £2,250–£2,950 here.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 29 May 2025, England's permitted development rules allow larger outdoor units (up to 1.5 m³) and no longer require a 1 m gap to the boundary, provided the MCS 020(a) noise check is met. Listed buildings and pitched-roof installs still need permission.
The survey
We book surveys in Lydney at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
