Design-led and low-profile air conditioning across Devon
For Plymouth houses with decorated or panelled walls, a slim unit with concealed pipework keeps the room looking finished. In Plymouth, a flat-fronted unit is a neat way to add cooling to a living room without a bulky white box. Coastal breezes help, but inland South West towns and glazed rooms still see uncomfortable peaks.
Prices in Devon
For Devon, expect roughly £1,850 to £3,650 per room, VAT included, adjusted for typical South West England rates. That is close to the UK middle for this kind of work. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. For reference, the Flat-fronted option in Devon (flat panel unit in white, black or silver for a living room) usually comes to about £2,250–£2,950.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
For most houses in Devon, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.
The survey
We book surveys in Devon at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards. A survey in Devon usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes.
