Bedroom and loft air conditioning in Wells
For bedrooms in Wells, we place the outdoor unit at the back of the house, away from neighbours' windows. Coastal breezes help, but inland South West towns and glazed rooms still see uncomfortable peaks.
Loft conversions and top-floor bedrooms in Wells gain heat through the roof all day and give it back at night. Wells sits around 24 miles from Taunton, inside our Somerset area. Homes in BA5 are all within our coverage.
Prices in Wells
Bedroom and loft air conditioning in Wells typically comes in at £1,195–£2,950 per room including VAT, based on South West England rates. It sits near the middle of UK prices. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. Typical Popular work (low-noise unit with Wi-Fi for a loft room or main bedroom) lands around £1,550–£2,195 in this area.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
For most houses in Wells, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. On a survey in Wells the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows.
