Bedroom and loft air conditioning in Frome
Damp South West winters make the dehumidifying side of a heat pump almost as useful as its cooling. For bedrooms in Frome, we place the outdoor unit at the back of the house, away from neighbours' windows.
Loft conversions and top-floor bedrooms in Frome gain heat through the roof all day and give it back at night. Frome is about 37 miles from Taunton and falls within our Somerset coverage. We cover BA11 and the streets around them.
Prices in Frome
In South West England, our guide range for bedroom and loft air conditioning is £1,195–£2,950 per room, including VAT. That is close to the UK middle for this kind of work. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. Typical Popular work (low-noise unit with Wi-Fi for a loft room or main bedroom) lands around £1,550–£2,195 in this area.
Essential
2–2.5 kW unit for a small bedroom with a short pipe run.
Popular
Low-noise unit with Wi-Fi for a loft room or main bedroom.
Premium
Very quiet model, concealed pipework or a flat-roof stand.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
For most houses in Frome, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.
The survey
On a survey in Frome the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows. We book surveys in Frome at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
