Bedroom and loft air conditioning in Dolgellau
Loft conversions and top-floor bedrooms in Dolgellau gain heat through the roof all day and give it back at night. Mild North Wales summers mean heat pump heating is usually the headline benefit.
For bedrooms in Dolgellau, we place the outdoor unit at the back of the house, away from neighbours' windows. Dolgellau sits around 35 miles from Bangor, Gwynedd, inside our Gwynedd area. Homes in LL40 are all within our coverage.
Prices in Dolgellau
Budget around £1,095–£2,745 per room including VAT for bedroom and loft air conditioning in and around Dolgellau. It is a touch below the UK middle, as trade rates in North Wales tend to be. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. On our North Wales figures, the Popular option (low-noise unit with Wi-Fi for a loft room or main bedroom) is about £1,445–£2,045.
Essential
2–2.5 kW unit for a small bedroom with a short pipe run.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 1 June 2026, Welsh permitted development rules for outdoor units closely match England's: up to 1.5 m³, two units on a detached home, one on other homes, and MCS 020a noise compliance. Listed buildings need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions on units facing a road.
The survey
A survey in Dolgellau usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes. The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote.
