Air-to-air heat pumps across the East Riding of Yorkshire

We size every heat pump in Hull for a cold winter day, then check the cooling side is right for summer. Homes in Hull on electric, oil or LPG heating are the ones most likely to benefit from an air-to-air heat pump. Across Yorkshire, an air-to-air system is a practical way to replace old electric heaters, with cooling for the hottest spells.

Prices in the East Riding of Yorkshire

For the East Riding of Yorkshire, expect roughly £2,795 to £10,895 for 2–5 rooms, VAT included, adjusted for typical Yorkshire and the Humber rates. Labour rates in Yorkshire and the Humber keep this slightly under the national middle. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. On our Yorkshire and the Humber figures, the Small home option (three or four rooms heated and cooled) is about £4,245–£7,095.

Prices are shown before any Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant. The £2,500 air-to-air grant applies only to eligible homes in England and Wales, using an MCS-certified heat pump installed by an MCS-certified installer, who applies for the grant and deducts it from the price. We confirm eligibility, and which installer applies, before you commit.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.

Planning and permissions

England's rules let most houses fit an outdoor unit without a planning application, as long as the size, number and MCS 020(a) noise conditions are met. Flats, listed buildings and roof-mounted units are treated differently.

If your home in the East Riding of Yorkshire is replacing fossil fuel or electric heating, and no gas, oil or LPG boiler stays in use, an MCS-certified air-to-air heat pump may qualify for the £2,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, which the MCS-certified installer claims and deducts from the price.

The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. We book surveys in the East Riding of Yorkshire at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
