Wall-mounted air conditioning in Shropshire

Wall-mounted air conditioning across Shropshire

A single wall-mounted unit is often all a bedroom or sunny living room in Telford needs. Where a home in Telford faces the street, the outdoor unit usually goes at the rear, out of sight. In the West Midlands, sizing for winter heating first and then checking summer cooling usually gives the best all-year system.

Prices in Shropshire

Wall-mounted air conditioning in Shropshire typically comes in at £1,145–£2,895 per room including VAT, based on West Midlands rates. That is close to the UK middle for this kind of work. Quotes move with the length of the pipe run, where the outdoor unit can sit and how much electrical work the job needs. For reference, the Popular option in Shropshire (quieter mid-range unit with Wi-Fi control and better seasonal efficiency for a living room) usually comes to about £1,495–£2,095.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.

Planning and permissions

In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.

The survey

Surveys in Shropshire cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
