Wall-mounted air conditioning in Witney
Hot spells reach the South East early, which makes spring the easiest time to arrange an installation. In a semi or terrace in Witney, the indoor unit often goes on a back bedroom wall with the outdoor unit on a bracket below.
Where a home in Witney faces the street, the outdoor unit usually goes at the rear, out of sight. Witney sits around 10 miles from Oxford, inside our Oxfordshire area. Postcode districts we cover here include OX8, OX28 and OX29.
Prices in Witney
Our South East England guide price for wall-mounted air conditioning is £1,395–£3,595 per room, VAT included. That is above the UK middle, mainly because labour and access cost more in South East England. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. For reference, the Popular option in Witney (quieter mid-range unit with Wi-Fi control and better seasonal efficiency for a living room) usually comes to about £1,895–£2,595.
Essential
Reliable 2.5–3.5 kW unit for a bedroom or study, standard pipe run, basic remote.
Popular
Quieter mid-range unit with Wi-Fi control and better seasonal efficiency for a living room.
Premium
Design-led or very quiet model, larger capacity or concealed pipework through a void.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
For most houses in Witney, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.
The survey
A survey in Witney usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes. Surveys in Witney cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare.
