Wall-mounted air conditioning in Maesteg
A single wall-mounted unit is often all a bedroom or sunny living room in Maesteg needs. South Wales summers can be warm and humid, and winters damp, so a reversible system earns its keep all year.
In a semi or terrace in Maesteg, the indoor unit often goes on a back bedroom wall with the outdoor unit on a bracket below. We cover Maesteg as part of Mid Glamorgan, roughly 8 miles from Bridgend. Homes in CF34 are all within our coverage.
Prices in Maesteg
In South and Mid Wales, our guide range for wall-mounted air conditioning is £1,045–£2,695 per room, including VAT. Labour rates in South and Mid Wales keep this slightly under the national middle. Typical Popular work (quieter mid-range unit with Wi-Fi control and better seasonal efficiency for a living room) lands around £1,445–£1,995 in this area.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In Wales, outdoor units of up to 1.5 m³ that meet MCS 020a noise limits are usually permitted development on houses; listed buildings need consent, and in conservation areas a unit cannot go on a wall or roof facing a road.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
