Wall-mounted air conditioning in Gosport
A single wall-mounted unit is often all a bedroom or sunny living room in Gosport needs. The South East sees some of the UK's warmest summer days, and south-facing rooms and conservatories feel it first.
Where a home in Gosport faces the street, the outdoor unit usually goes at the rear, out of sight. We cover Gosport as part of Hampshire, roughly 14 miles from Southampton. Coverage includes PO12.
Prices in Gosport
Guide prices around Gosport run from £1,395 to £3,595 per room including VAT. That is above the UK middle, mainly because labour and access cost more in South East England. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. As an example, the Popular option (quieter mid-range unit with Wi-Fi control and better seasonal efficiency for a living room) would typically be £1,895–£2,595 here.
Essential
Reliable 2.5–3.5 kW unit for a bedroom or study, standard pipe run, basic remote.
Popular
Quieter mid-range unit with Wi-Fi control and better seasonal efficiency for a living room.
Premium
Design-led or very quiet model, larger capacity or concealed pipework through a void.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 29 May 2025, England's permitted development rules allow larger outdoor units (up to 1.5 m³) and no longer require a 1 m gap to the boundary, provided the MCS 020(a) noise check is met. Listed buildings and pitched-roof installs still need permission.
The survey
We book surveys in Gosport at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards. Surveys in Gosport cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare.
