Wall-mounted air conditioning in Prestatyn
In a semi or terrace in Prestatyn, the indoor unit often goes on a back bedroom wall with the outdoor unit on a bracket below. Mild North Wales summers mean heat pump heating is usually the headline benefit.
A single wall-mounted unit is often all a bedroom or sunny living room in Prestatyn needs. Our Clwyd coverage takes in Prestatyn, about 26 miles from Wrexham. That includes the LL19 postcode district.
Prices in Prestatyn
In North Wales, our guide range for wall-mounted air conditioning is £1,095–£2,745 per room, including VAT. It is a touch below the UK middle, as trade rates in North Wales tend to be. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. Typical Popular work (quieter mid-range unit with Wi-Fi control and better seasonal efficiency for a living room) lands around £1,445–£1,995 in this area.
Essential
Reliable 2.5–3.5 kW unit for a bedroom or study, standard pipe run, basic remote.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Wales removed its old 3 m boundary rule on 1 June 2026, so most houses in Prestatyn can now have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it meets the MCS 020a noise condition. Listed buildings still need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions.
The survey
We book surveys in Prestatyn at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards. On a survey in Prestatyn the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows.
