Wall-mounted air conditioning in Deeside
In North Wales, an air-to-air system can be an efficient way to heat holiday homes and bungalows, with cooling as a bonus. In a semi or terrace in Deeside, the indoor unit often goes on a back bedroom wall with the outdoor unit on a bracket below.
Where a home in Deeside faces the street, the outdoor unit usually goes at the rear, out of sight. Our Clwyd coverage takes in Deeside, about 11 miles from Wrexham. Homes in CH5 and CH1 are all within our coverage.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 1 June 2026, Welsh permitted development rules for outdoor units closely match England's: up to 1.5 m³, two units on a detached home, one on other homes, and MCS 020a noise compliance. Listed buildings need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions on units facing a road.
The survey
Surveys in Deeside cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare. On a survey in Deeside the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows.
