Wall-mounted air conditioning in Northwich
Milder summers in the North West mean designing for winter comfort as much as for a heatwave. In a semi or terrace in Northwich, the indoor unit often goes on a back bedroom wall with the outdoor unit on a bracket below.
Where a home in Northwich faces the street, the outdoor unit usually goes at the rear, out of sight. Northwich is about 10 miles from Warrington and falls within our Cheshire coverage. We cover CW9 and the streets around them.
Prices in Northwich
Budget around £1,095–£2,795 per room including VAT for wall-mounted air conditioning in and around Northwich. It is a touch below the UK middle, as trade rates in North West England tend to be. Quotes move with the length of the pipe run, where the outdoor unit can sit and how much electrical work the job needs. Typical Popular work (quieter mid-range unit with Wi-Fi control and better seasonal efficiency for a living room) lands around £1,445–£2,045 in this area.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
For most houses in Northwich, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. On a survey in Northwich the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows.
