Multi-split air conditioning in Neath
Twin and triple systems suit Neath homes where bedrooms sit above the kitchen and one rear wall can take the outdoor unit. In South and Mid Wales, efficient heating is often as important as cooling.
Multi-split is a good fit for Neath flats and maisonettes where only a balcony or one rear wall is available. Neath lies roughly 7 miles from Swansea, and we cover it as part of West Glamorgan. Coverage includes SA11.
Prices in Neath
Guide prices around Neath run from £2,245 to £7,145 for 2–4 rooms including VAT. Labour rates in South and Mid Wales keep this slightly under the national middle. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. For reference, the Triple option in Neath (three rooms with mixed indoor styles and Wi-Fi control throughout) usually comes to about £3,095–£4,995.
Twin
Two rooms on one outdoor unit, wall-mounted indoor units, standard routes.
Triple
Three rooms with mixed indoor styles and Wi-Fi control throughout.
Quad
Four or five rooms, longer concealed runs or a ducted unit in a loft void.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Wales removed its old 3 m boundary rule on 1 June 2026, so most houses in Neath can now have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it meets the MCS 020a noise condition. Listed buildings still need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions.
The survey
On a survey in Neath the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
