Multi-split air conditioning in Leicester
The East Midlands gets warm, dry summer spells, and loft conversions and top-floor bedrooms are where the heat builds. Twin and triple systems suit Leicester homes where bedrooms sit above the kitchen and one rear wall can take the outdoor unit.
Multi-split is a good fit for Leicester flats and maisonettes where only a balcony or one rear wall is available. As well as Leicester itself, our Leicestershire coverage takes in Loughborough, Hinckley and the towns around them. Homes in LE1 and LE19 are all within our coverage.
Prices in Leicester
Our East Midlands guide price for multi-split air conditioning is £2,345–£7,445 for 2–4 rooms, VAT included. Labour rates in the East Midlands keep this slightly under the national middle. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. Typical Triple work (three rooms with mixed indoor styles and Wi-Fi control throughout) lands around £3,195–£5,245 in this area.
Twin
Two rooms on one outdoor unit, wall-mounted indoor units, standard routes.
Triple
Three rooms with mixed indoor styles and Wi-Fi control throughout.
Quad
Four or five rooms, longer concealed runs or a ducted unit in a loft void.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
