Multi-split air conditioning across the Isle of Wight

In a house in Newport with a usable loft, multi-split pipes can often run through it so the front stays clear. Multi-split is a good fit for Newport flats and maisonettes where only a balcony or one rear wall is available. The South East sees some of the UK's warmest summer days, and south-facing rooms and conservatories feel it first.

Planning and permissions

In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.

The survey

Surveys on the Isle of Wight are arranged around travel. We confirm the date and any travel, ferry or accommodation cost in writing before you commit, then the survey covers rooms, pipe routes, electrics and noise as normal. Where travel is involved, we agree the survey arrangements and any travel cost up front. On the day, the engineer measures the rooms, checks the electrics and agrees the outdoor unit position with you.

FAQ

Multi-split air conditioning on the Isle of Wight

Will the outdoor unit need planning permission on the Isle of Wight?

Most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it meets the size, number and MCS 020(a) noise conditions. Flats and listed buildings usually need permission or consent. We check on survey.

How much does multi-split air conditioning cost on the Isle of Wight?

Our South East England guide range is £2,995–£9,445 for 2–4 rooms, including VAT. Travel is quoted separately.

Is the survey free here?

Surveys here are by arrangement, with any travel or ferry cost quoted as a fixed amount before you book.

Which towns on the Isle of Wight do you cover?

All of the Isle of Wight, including Newport, Isle of Wight, Ryde, Cowes and East Cowes. Each town has its own page below with local details.

Can I add another room later?

Only if the outdoor unit has spare ports and capacity. If you think you might extend, tell us at survey and we will size for it.

What happens if the outdoor unit fails?

All rooms on that outdoor unit stop until it is repaired. That is the trade-off for a tidier exterior; separate single splits avoid it.
