Multi-split air conditioning in Bideford
Twin and triple systems suit Bideford homes where bedrooms sit above the kitchen and one rear wall can take the outdoor unit. Damp South West winters make the dehumidifying side of a heat pump almost as useful as its cooling.
In a house in Bideford with a usable loft, multi-split pipes can often run through it so the front stays clear. Our Devon coverage takes in Bideford, about 45 miles from Plymouth. We cover EX39 and the streets around them.
Prices in Bideford

Two rooms on one outdoor unit, wall-mounted indoor units, standard routes.
Triple
Three rooms with mixed indoor styles and Wi-Fi control throughout.
Quad
Four or five rooms, longer concealed runs or a ducted unit in a loft void.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
England's rules let most houses fit an outdoor unit without a planning application, as long as the size, number and MCS 020(a) noise conditions are met. Flats, listed buildings and roof-mounted units are treated differently.
The survey
On a survey in Bideford the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows. Surveys in Bideford cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare.
