Multi-split air conditioning in Redruth
South West summers are milder on the coast, but sheltered towns and south-facing rooms still overheat, and efficient winter heating matters just as much. Multi-split is a good fit for Redruth flats and maisonettes where only a balcony or one rear wall is available.
In a house in Redruth with a usable loft, multi-split pipes can often run through it so the front stays clear. Redruth lies roughly 8 miles from Truro, and we cover it as part of Cornwall. Homes in TR15 are all within our coverage.
Prices in Redruth
Budget around £2,450–£7,750 for 2–4 rooms including VAT for multi-split air conditioning in and around Redruth. That is broadly in line with national guide prices. What moves a quote in Redruth up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. For reference, the Triple option in Redruth (three rooms with mixed indoor styles and Wi-Fi control throughout) usually comes to about £3,350–£5,450.
Twin
Two rooms on one outdoor unit, wall-mounted indoor units, standard routes.
Triple
Three rooms with mixed indoor styles and Wi-Fi control throughout.
Quad
Four or five rooms, longer concealed runs or a ducted unit in a loft void.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 29 May 2025, England's permitted development rules allow larger outdoor units (up to 1.5 m³) and no longer require a 1 m gap to the boundary, provided the MCS 020(a) noise check is met. Listed buildings and pitched-roof installs still need permission.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. On a survey in Redruth the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows.
