Ducted air conditioning in Stourbridge
Ducted systems suit Stourbridge loft conversions and new extensions where ceilings are being boarded anyway. Hot spells in the West Midlands are shorter but intense, especially in loft rooms and rooms with big windows.
In an older house in Stourbridge, the loft and any existing bulkheads decide whether a ducted layout will work. We cover Stourbridge as part of the West Midlands, roughly 10 miles from Birmingham. Postcode districts we cover here include DY8.

Ducted air conditioning in Stourbridge typically comes in at £5,345–£14,645 per system including VAT, based on West Midlands rates. It sits near the middle of UK prices. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. As an example, the Zoned option (motorised dampers or two units for separate floors or room groups) would typically be £7,295–£10,745 here.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
We book surveys in Stourbridge at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
