Ducted air conditioning in Tamworth
In an older house in Tamworth, the loft and any existing bulkheads decide whether a ducted layout will work. Away from the coast, West Midlands summers can turn hot quickly, and bedrooms under the roof are the first to suffer.
Ducted systems suit Tamworth loft conversions and new extensions where ceilings are being boarded anyway. Tamworth is about 33 miles from Stoke-on-Trent and falls within our Staffordshire coverage. That includes the B79 postcode district.
Prices in Tamworth
Our West Midlands guide price for ducted air conditioning is £5,345–£14,645 per system, VAT included. That is close to the UK middle for this kind of work. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. Typical Zoned work (motorised dampers or two units for separate floors or room groups) lands around £7,295–£10,745 in this area.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
England's rules let most houses fit an outdoor unit without a planning application, as long as the size, number and MCS 020(a) noise conditions are met. Flats, listed buildings and roof-mounted units are treated differently.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. Surveys in Tamworth cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare.
