Ducted air conditioning in Clitheroe
Milder summers in the North West mean designing for winter comfort as much as for a heatwave. In an older house in Clitheroe, the loft and any existing bulkheads decide whether a ducted layout will work.
Ducted systems suit Clitheroe loft conversions and new extensions where ceilings are being boarded anyway. Clitheroe sits around 14 miles from Preston, inside our Lancashire area. We cover BB7 and the streets around them.
Prices in Clitheroe
Ducted air conditioning in Clitheroe typically comes in at £5,195–£14,195 per system including VAT, based on North West England rates. Labour rates in North West England keep this slightly under the national middle. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. Typical Zoned work (motorised dampers or two units for separate floors or room groups) lands around £7,095–£10,395 in this area.
Single zone

Motorised dampers or two units for separate floors or room groups.
Whole home

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
England's rules let most houses fit an outdoor unit without a planning application, as long as the size, number and MCS 020(a) noise conditions are met. Flats, listed buildings and roof-mounted units are treated differently.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. A survey in Clitheroe usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes.
