Ducted air conditioning across Lanarkshire
Ducted systems suit Hamilton loft conversions and new extensions where ceilings are being boarded anyway. For a renovation in Hamilton, the best time to plan ducted cooling is before the plasterers arrive. Scottish summers are mild, so most systems here are chosen first for efficient heating, with cooling for warm spells.
Prices in Lanarkshire
Ducted air conditioning in Lanarkshire typically comes in at £4,995–£13,745 per system including VAT, based on Central and Southern Scotland rates. That sits a little below the UK middle, reflecting typical Central and Southern Scotland labour rates. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. On our Central and Southern Scotland figures, the Zoned option (motorised dampers or two units for separate floors or room groups) is about £6,845–£10,045.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Outdoor units on Scottish homes can often be installed without a planning application, but the conditions differ from England's, so we confirm the rules for your property at survey.
The survey
A survey in Lanarkshire usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes. The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote.
