Ducted air conditioning in Bromyard
For a renovation in Bromyard, the best time to plan ducted cooling is before the plasterers arrive. Away from the coast, West Midlands summers can turn hot quickly, and bedrooms under the roof are the first to suffer.
In an older house in Bromyard, the loft and any existing bulkheads decide whether a ducted layout will work. We cover Bromyard as part of Herefordshire, roughly 13 miles from Hereford. Coverage includes HR7.
Prices in Bromyard
In the West Midlands, our guide range for ducted air conditioning is £5,345–£14,645 per system, including VAT. That is close to the UK middle for this kind of work. Quotes move with the length of the pipe run, where the outdoor unit can sit and how much electrical work the job needs. For reference, the Zoned option in Bromyard (motorised dampers or two units for separate floors or room groups) usually comes to about £7,295–£10,745.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
For most houses in Bromyard, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. We book surveys in Bromyard at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
