Ducted air conditioning in Bury
For a renovation in Bury, the best time to plan ducted cooling is before the plasterers arrive. Damp North West weather makes the dehumidifying mode of a modern split system genuinely useful for much of the year.
Ducted systems suit Bury loft conversions and new extensions where ceilings are being boarded anyway. Bury lies roughly 9 miles from Manchester, and we cover it as part of Greater Manchester. Coverage includes BL9.

What moves a quote in Bury up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. For reference, the Zoned option in Bury (motorised dampers or two units for separate floors or room groups) usually comes to about £7,095–£10,395.

If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. On a survey in Bury the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows.
