In an older house in Crowborough, the loft and any existing bulkheads decide whether a ducted layout will work. The South East sees some of the UK's warmest summer days, and south-facing rooms and conservatories feel it first.

Prices in Crowborough
In South East England, our guide range for ducted air conditioning is £6,645–£18,245 per system, including VAT. South East England is one of the dearer parts of the UK for trades, which shows in the range. The biggest variables are the pipe route, access for the outdoor unit and the state of the consumer unit, all of which the survey settles. For reference, the Zoned option in Crowborough (motorised dampers or two units for separate floors or room groups) usually comes to about £9,095–£13,345.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
We book surveys in Crowborough at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
