Ducted air conditioning in Colwyn Bay
Ducted systems suit Colwyn Bay loft conversions and new extensions where ceilings are being boarded anyway. In North Wales, an air-to-air system can be an efficient way to heat holiday homes and bungalows, with cooling as a bonus.
In an older house in Colwyn Bay, the loft and any existing bulkheads decide whether a ducted layout will work. Our Clwyd coverage takes in Colwyn Bay, about 35 miles from Wrexham. We cover LL29 and the streets around them.

Our North Wales guide price for ducted air conditioning is £5,095–£14,045 per system, VAT included. It is a touch below the UK middle, as trade rates in North Wales tend to be. Typical Zoned work (motorised dampers or two units for separate floors or room groups) lands around £6,995–£10,295 in this area.

HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Wales removed its old 3 m boundary rule on 1 June 2026, so most houses in Colwyn Bay can now have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it meets the MCS 020a noise condition. Listed buildings still need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions.
The survey
A survey in Colwyn Bay usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
