Conservatory air conditioning in Carmarthen
If your conservatory in Carmarthen faces south, that is where overheating is worst. South Wales summers can be warm and humid, and winters damp, so a reversible system earns its keep all year.
Conservatories and orangeries in Carmarthen can swing from too hot in July to too cold in January. As well as Carmarthen itself, our Dyfed coverage takes in Llanelli, Ammanford and the towns around them. That includes the SA31 postcode district.
Prices in Carmarthen
In South and Mid Wales, our guide range for conservatory air conditioning is £1,345–£3,145 per system, including VAT. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. For reference, the Popular option in Carmarthen (5 kW unit with Wi-Fi for a medium conservatory or orangery) usually comes to about £1,695–£2,395.
Essential
3.5 kW unit for a small lean-to or Edwardian conservatory.
Popular
5 kW unit with Wi-Fi for a medium conservatory or orangery.
Premium
7 kW or console-plus-wall setup for large glazed rooms.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Wales removed its old 3 m boundary rule on 1 June 2026, so most houses in Carmarthen can now have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it meets the MCS 020a noise condition. Listed buildings still need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions.
The survey
On a survey in Carmarthen the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows. A survey in Carmarthen usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes.
