Bedroom and loft air conditioning in Selby
For bedrooms in Selby, we place the outdoor unit at the back of the house, away from neighbours' windows. Yorkshire summers are mostly mild, so efficient winter heating counts for as much as cooling.
Loft conversions and top-floor bedrooms in Selby gain heat through the roof all day and give it back at night. We cover Selby as part of North Yorkshire, roughly 12 miles from York. That includes the YO8 postcode district.
Prices in Selby
Our Yorkshire and the Humber guide price for bedroom and loft air conditioning is £1,145–£2,795 per room, VAT included. Labour rates in Yorkshire and the Humber keep this slightly under the national middle. Quotes move with the length of the pipe run, where the outdoor unit can sit and how much electrical work the job needs. As an example, the Popular option (low-noise unit with Wi-Fi for a loft room or main bedroom) would typically be £1,445–£2,095 here.
Essential
2–2.5 kW unit for a small bedroom with a short pipe run.
Popular
Low-noise unit with Wi-Fi for a loft room or main bedroom.
Premium
Very quiet model, concealed pipework or a flat-roof stand.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. We book surveys in Selby at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
