Air-to-air heat pumps in Rugby
We size every heat pump in Rugby for a cold winter day, then check the cooling side is right for summer. In the West Midlands, sizing for winter heating first and then checking summer cooling usually gives the best all-year system.
Ask at your Rugby survey whether the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant could apply to your home. Rugby is about 13 miles from Nuneaton and falls within our Warwickshire coverage. Coverage includes CV21.

Air-to-air heat pumps in Rugby typically come in at £2,895–£11,195 for 2–5 rooms including VAT, based on West Midlands rates. It sits near the middle of UK prices. What moves a quote in Rugby up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. As an example, the Small home option (three or four rooms heated and cooled) would typically be £4,345–£7,295 here.
Two rooms
Living room and main bedroom on one outdoor unit.
Small home

Prices are shown before any Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant. The £2,500 air-to-air grant applies only to eligible homes in England and Wales, using an MCS-certified heat pump installed by an MCS-certified installer, who applies for the grant and deducts it from the price. We confirm eligibility, and which installer applies, before you commit.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
England's rules let most houses fit an outdoor unit without a planning application, as long as the size, number and MCS 020(a) noise conditions are met. Flats, listed buildings and roof-mounted units are treated differently.
If your home in Rugby is replacing fossil fuel or electric heating, and no gas, oil or LPG boiler stays in use, an MCS-certified air-to-air heat pump may qualify for the £2,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, which the MCS-certified installer claims and deducts from the price.
The survey
Surveys in Rugby cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
