Air-to-air heat pumps in Ross-on-Wye
Inland West Midlands towns can see sharp summer peaks, and the same system doubles as an efficient heater in winter. Homes in Ross-on-Wye on electric, oil or LPG heating are the ones most likely to benefit from an air-to-air heat pump.
We size every heat pump in Ross-on-Wye for a cold winter day, then check the cooling side is right for summer. Ross-on-Wye lies roughly 12 miles from Hereford, and we cover it as part of Herefordshire. We cover HR9 and the streets around them.
Prices in Ross-on-Wye
For Ross-on-Wye, expect roughly £2,895 to £11,195 for 2–5 rooms, VAT included, adjusted for typical West Midlands rates. That is broadly in line with national guide prices. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. As an example, the Small home option (three or four rooms heated and cooled) would typically be £4,345–£7,295 here.
Two rooms
Living room and main bedroom on one outdoor unit.
Small home
Three or four rooms heated and cooled.
Whole home
Five or more rooms, sized to replace the existing heating.
Prices are shown before any Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant. The £2,500 air-to-air grant applies only to eligible homes in England and Wales, using an MCS-certified heat pump installed by an MCS-certified installer, who applies for the grant and deducts it from the price. We confirm eligibility, and which installer applies, before you commit.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
For most houses in Ross-on-Wye, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.
If your home in Ross-on-Wye is replacing fossil fuel or electric heating, and no gas, oil or LPG boiler stays in use, an MCS-certified air-to-air heat pump may qualify for the £2,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, which the MCS-certified installer claims and deducts from the price.
The survey
We book surveys in Ross-on-Wye at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards. A survey in Ross-on-Wye usually takes one to two hours.
