Air-to-air heat pumps in Weymouth
Ask at your Weymouth survey whether the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant could apply to your home. South West summers are milder on the coast, but sheltered towns and south-facing rooms still overheat, and efficient winter heating matters just as much.
Homes in Weymouth on electric, oil or LPG heating are the ones most likely to benefit from an air-to-air heat pump. Weymouth lies roughly 26 miles from Bournemouth, and we cover it as part of Dorset. Homes in DT3 and DT4 are all within our coverage.
Prices in Weymouth
Our South West England guide price for air-to-air heat pumps is £2,950–£11,450 for 2–5 rooms, VAT included. That is broadly in line with national guide prices. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. For reference, the Small home option in Weymouth (three or four rooms heated and cooled) usually comes to about £4,450–£7,450.
Two rooms
Living room and main bedroom on one outdoor unit.
Small home
Three or four rooms heated and cooled.
Whole home
Five or more rooms, sized to replace the existing heating.
Prices are shown before any Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant. The £2,500 air-to-air grant applies only to eligible homes in England and Wales, using an MCS-certified heat pump installed by an MCS-certified installer, who applies for the grant and deducts it from the price. We confirm eligibility, and which installer applies, before you commit.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
For most houses in Weymouth, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.
Weymouth is in the Boiler Upgrade Scheme area, so eligible homes replacing oil, gas, LPG or electric heating may be able to get £2,500 off an air-to-air heat pump, as long as no fossil-fuel boiler stays in use. An MCS-certified installer must claim it; we confirm eligibility, and which installer applies, before you commit.
The survey
Surveys in Weymouth cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare. The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote.
